The Technical Program Committee of the 2020 IEEE Radar Conference decided to introduce a Three Minute Thesis (3MT) contest, where PhD students present a compelling oration on their thesis in three minutes. It is an exercise for students to consolidate their ideas so they can present them concisely to a broader audience. Provided the scientific and technical quality is guaranteed, the contest aims at promoting oral and presentation skills of PhD researchers. The contest also aims at providing PhDs the opportunity to gain visibility of their work.
To PhD students: If you are devoting or have devoted at least 2 years to your PhD, you could devote 3 minutes to explain it to a more general public!
Please address any questions related to the 3MT contest to 3MT@radarconf20.org.
Five finalists will be invited to present their 3MT video to 2020 IEEE Radar Conference audience who selects the winner based on the live 3-minute presentation. The award will be presented to the winner during the conference Award Ceremony, which will take place at the banquet. The award consists of a certificate and a check amounting to 1,000 Euros. All the five finalists will receive a certificate during the 3MT session.
